Greens News
There is a tendency for many UK golfers to expect "Augusta" type greens in Spring, having watched the Masters on television in April. Unfortunately, this is not achievable in the UK for many reasons, which are fully explained in an article entitled "Spring Patience" written by Alistair Beggs (a leading Agronomist for STRI in the UK). For ease of reference and explanation I have provided a link to this article, which I urge you all to read. This will explain why UK greens tend to mature to their full potential a little later than US greens and will give further reassurance that our greens are progressing as they should.
May I remind everyone that they should repair all pitch marks that they make and if you notice any left by previous golfers, it would be appreciated if you would please take the time to repair these as well.
